Asanta Sana Game Reserve - Graaff-Reinet - 2012
Scope of project
To supply and install all solar equipment and LED lights for an old farm house at Asanta Sana for a Canadian University that is doing research on the Vervet monkey in the area. This project included a 12V DC system for the lights, a 24 V DC system for the 2 fridges and a 220V AC system for the plugs to run laptop computers. Rewiring of certain parts of the house had to be done so as to integrate these systems from the same battery bank.
Project equipment supplied
9 x 235 watt solar panels = 2115 watts, Steel structure for panels, 100A MPPT charge controller, 12 x 900 amp/hr deep cycle batteries “ mining batteriesâ€, 5kw Victron Inverter/charger, Victron battery monitor, 220V surge protectors, lightening protection, 5KW backup generator and to supply an energy efficient fridge/freezer combination.
